TenXer Raises $3M For Coder Productivity Tracker

August 28, 2012

San Francisco-based TenXer has raised $3M in Series B led by True Ventures, and its partner with Radar Partners and Khosla Ventures, as well as angel investors.

TenXer is focused on quantifying productivity in GitHub, Pivotal Tracker, Jira, Gmail and more. We know a lot of engineers who like to provide their skills in coding competitions. Tenxer data is more about real-world data, what the engineers are doing for their company. Tenexer than wants to give you guidance on how to be more productive.

A big challenge with the premise is that some of the most useful engineers might deploy less code than a failing engineer. Maybe the standout is working on a much more challenging project, maybe they are thinking hard and managing other engineers. So we don’t see this as the be-all-end-all score.

Some might say that the developer space is too small to focus on but its a fast growing populace so we don’t think TenXer needs to expand, even though they say that’s on their road-map.

TenXer is the fourth company founded by Jeff Ma. Ma gained notoriety as the inspiration for the main character in the book Bringing Down the House and the movie 21.
