Rewarder.com Raises $7M For I’ll Pay $ for Random Item Site
Rewarder.com has raised $7m in Series A from Granite Ventures and Radar Partners with Ron Conway, David Lee, and Kenny Lerer.
The site has people post rewards for goods or services. The company said users have posted $10M worth of requests. Rewarder.com examples range from $2500 for clues to the culprits who broke into an animal shelter to $2 for a Pomegranate sauce recipe.
We don’t really get why the posters would be attracted to this. Couldn’t the rewarder just Google Pomegranate sauce recipe? Seems easier. Why do the animal shelter people think that anybody on Rewarder.com might know the culprit. The site concept seems random, but maybe that’s why it might work - the entertainment value of seeing random rewards might pull people in.
