The Cure For Insomnia - Watch A Solar Power Plant Being Built!
While it’s not watching grass grow, watching a solar plant being built is pretty darn close. You can judge for yourself as a web cam has been set up to show a 10 megawatt (MW) plant being built near Aachen, Germany.
The plant is a joint venture between utility company Energie- und Wasser-Versorgung GmbH, and the owners of the quarry where the solar plant is being built. The business are splitting the approximately $15 million cost.
Considering the plant is being built on the slope of a gravel pit, Germans are still pretty crazy for new solar power being installed. That’s good news for companies like First Solar (FSLR :NASDQ) and SunPower (SPWR :NASDAQ).
And with shares of First Solar down 1.73 percent in afternoon trading, we’ll take the sedate action of the Web cam over watching the stock ticker.
