Kanoodle Hones RSS Ads
Clickz provides a comprehensive update on the progress at Kanoodle, the search advertising company. Specifically, Kanoodle is expanding its efforts to embed sponsored links into RSS feeds. The company has teamed up with feed aggregator Moreover.com and blog software provider Six Apart to offer the expanded service.

The idea here is to provide a mechanism for advertisers to embed their links in a greater array of niche content areas. We like the idea - but suspect it will be a loss leader for a while. Kanoodle will need Google-like distribution to make the economics work with tiny publishers. We also wonder how “clickable” the sponsored links are given the way people use RSS readers. For our own part, the whole point of subscribing to RSS feeds is to facilitate the quick consumption of headlines - without distraction.
