Investors: Recently raised $5 million from Bayer MaterialScience.
Business Model: Holographic data storage technology for use in conventional archives and for innumerable applications that require higher density memory.
Competitors: Aprilis, Manhattan Scientifics HoloStor Unit, IBM
Dirt: There is a high degree of difficulty in what InPhase is looking to pull-off. They might fail, but the recent investment and partnership with Bayer suggests that they are close. The results will be the kind of increased data capacity that companies in numerous fields covet.

    Edmonton dominated the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night and the 4-0 margin in Game 6 makes it hard to imagine the Oilers not hoisting hockey’s Holy Grail above their heads in less than 48 hours. And it would not come as any shock to see defenseman Chris Pronger, who had another 31-minute night, take the honors for the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.
