The Past Catches Up with Naveen Jain

To commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Nasdaq’s all-time high, the Seattle Times is running a devastating take-down of the former Internet billionaire, Naveen Jain. Based on the first intstallment, it’s a wonder Naveen has managed to avoid hard time in the Joint.

Say it ain’t so, Naveen!
We like Naveen – always have. In the interest of full disclosure, he invested a modest sum in an earlier version of the alarm:clock back in 1999. When that investment returned him the kingly sum of $0, he was reasonable and good-natured – even supportive. But, clearly, we only saw one side of Naveen. The evidence put forth by the Seattle Times, most of it in the form of e-mail exchanges, is brutally incriminating.

    Edmonton dominated the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night and the 4-0 margin in Game 6 makes it hard to imagine the Oilers not hoisting hockey’s Holy Grail above their heads in less than 48 hours. And it would not come as any shock to see defenseman Chris Pronger, who had another 31-minute night, take the honors for the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.
