Kanoodle Hones RSS Ads

February 28, 2005

Putting The $ In R$$
The idea here is to provide a mechanism for advertisers to embed their links in a greater array of niche content areas. We like the idea – but suspect it will be a loss leader for a while. Kanoodle will need Google-like distribution to make the economics work with tiny publishers. We also wonder how “clickable” the sponsored links are given the way people use RSS readers. For our own part, the whole point of subscribing to RSS feeds is to facilitate the quick consumption of headlines – without distraction.

Edmonton dominated the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night and the 4-0 margin in Game 6 makes it hard to imagine the Oilers not hoisting hockey’s Holy Grail above their heads in less than 48 hours. And it would not come as any shock to see defenseman Chris Pronger, who had another 31-minute night, take the honors for the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.
