VoIParadigm Shift

At the CES show, some of the early buzz has focused on Vonage’s announcement that it is jumping into the wireless space with VoIP to WiFi phones. As some articles point out, this has been offered but not at the consumer friendly rates that Vonage will bring. For consumers, the clear downside is that WiFi penetration is still not great, so their phones will only work where they have access, but WiFi penetration is growing dramatically and hordes of consumers will be overjoyed to get rid of their Cingular or Tmobile accounts, if they can get out of their contracts.
